Spring Anime Season
Posted by Miya on April 4th, 2013

One anime season ends and another begins. I hope this one is better, and that the anime are more evenly spread throughout the week. I’ll update this the first couple episodes of every new anime I watch. ANN hasn’t started their guide yet, so I’m just going to jump right in without them.

RDG: Red Data Girl – Hayami Saori sounds like Noto Mamiko. Fukuyama Jun has a son now, and is evil. I hated the first episode. I’m not a fan of “duty” and “servant” bullshit, especially when the person it’s centered around is a weak, annoying girl. Miyuki has every right to be angry. But he’ll probably end up falling in love with her, because that’s what always happens. Since I don’t like this anime, I’m going to go ahead and watch the next two eps now, instead of waiting for the television airing.

The one with the basketball talks too loud. The second episode was slightly better, but I don’t like it any more than before. We can add “vessel” to the list of bullshit things.

The most interesting thing about RDG is the argument on MAL as to whether it should be classified as an ONA or TV series. The loud girl finally put down that basketball! At least this idiot girl is good at something. Evil!JunJun wasn’t in this one, thankfully.

Dansai Bunri no Crime Edge – The story sounds incredibly stupid, but I’ll give it a try anyway. It can’t be any worse than RDG. If he likes to cut hair so much why doesn’t he cut his own? We’re supposed to think she’s cute, but there are a lot cuter anime girls. “My name is Haimura Kiri, and I’m a hair pervert.” It’s just as stupid as it sounds.

The second episode was much better.

Devil Survivor 2 The Animation – Thought this was a sequel at first. His is taking the longest to download, that means it’s the most powerful and bad ass. I knew that was going to be Sawashiro Miyuki. Sakurai Takahiro is playing a weirdo again. Is that Suwabe Junichi using his good voice? Oh, yes it is. I like the ED. This is the best of the season so far.

That one guy in the OP/ED looks like Hitsugaya from Bleach. Devil Survivor 2 end theme, Be by Song Riders, comes out May 22. Samon’s seiyuu! Looks like Hitsugaya’s doppelganger will be in the next episode.

Hataraku Maou-sama! – The intro was a little long, and their language is annoying. Maou-sama has really adjusted to living as a human. This has just bumped Devil Survivor 2 out of first place.

Best anime of the season. Too bad it doesn’t have much competition for that title.

Karneval – That guys hair is annoying. It looks like ears. Why are the tips of his hair ears purple. She’s wearing curtain tassels in her hair. Well that’s disgusting. Her transformation, not the tassels. OnoD! It would be nice if Nakamura Yuichi used his good voice in this anime, but he so rarely does. Suwabe Junichi! Bishies. Bishies as far as the eye can see! First ep of Karneval wasn’t very good. Not as bad as RDG, and at least most of the guys are pretty.

The second ep had some funny moments, but Nai is such a stupid character.

Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Come wa Machigatteiru. – This title has a period on the end of it, and it’s not even a sequel. Kon is back. Girl, you are not that cute. The reason no one likes you is because of your horrible personality. Knee the dbag, orange girl. She’s not cool, she’s just a bitch. So she has a horrible heart to match her horrible personality. That’s not a good thing, orange. Maybe she’s more salmon than orange? So, obviously I don’t like the black haired one very much. The orange one reminds me of Natsume, so she’s okay, but she needs to tone it down a bit. The fact my audio kept screwing up throughout the episode didn’t help my enjoyment of it. I’m not sure if it’s my laptop, or the headphones. I pray it’s just the headphones, because I don’t know what I’d do if my comps speakers stopped working. But I break my headphones every few months, and I’ve never had it sound like this before. I’m worried. :/

No problems since I changed my earbuds. I know the Natsume alike is wearing a necklace (right?!), but it looks like bondage. Have I seen one too many hentai? The second episode was actually much better.

The Flowers of Evil – I’ve been hearing about this one for a while on ANN. Wow. The character designs are hideous. The movement of the character is so natural and realistic, which MAL reviews tell me is because it is rotoscoped. The anime is being slaughtered on MAL, BTW. It doesn’t even have an animated opening. Did this anime have no money at all, or is it just trying to be weird? That was pretty good, Saeki! I hate GG’s localized shit. Someone else better sub this, because I don’t want to rely on them. I’ll be kinder to this anime than MAL. Right now the ugly art is the only thing interesting about this anime. The end theme would be better as an instrumental, the song gets annoying after a while.

It’s good you feel bad about what you did, but please stop yelling. He sure can run.

Ore no Imouto ga Konnani Kawaii Wake ga Nai. – Oreimo is back, bitchy Kirino is back, cute Kuroneko is back. I don’t understand why guys like Kirino. Is this like a “girls like bad boys” thing? Guys like bitchy girls. Oreimo can be hard on anime fans. And like Haganai NEXT, I don’t think they actually know what BL is. I’ve seen and read a lot of yaoi and none of it looks like that. That was bara, which is for men. You can tell the difference on sight – in BL the men don’t look like Hulk Hogan. Not even the old BL, like Seku Hara, which has beefier men. This is supposed to be about the second season, but for the sake of rotten girls and bishies everywhere, I just had to get that off my chest. Kuroneko! Kuroneko! I want Kuroneko! Hayami Saori sounds sooo much like Noto Mamiko. How can there be two people with almost exactly the same voice. I don’t know how people can confuse her with Hanazawa Kana though, they sound nothing alike. Speaking of Hanazawa… I am waiting! Kuroneko! Hanazawa Kana is definitely the best girl seiyuu. Now Kuroneko is tsundere. See, Kirino? THAT’S how you be tsundere. Why do anime characters always walk around talking out loud to themselves? Is there a black hole in her room? Where does she keep all that stuff? Eh. I’ve never been an Oreimo fan, so I can’t say I liked this. This episode was also pretty slow.

It’s Kirino’s equally bitchy friend. I think I might hate her even more than Kirino. Episode 2 reminded me why I was able to put up with the first season. Much better.

Namiuchigiwa no Muromi-san – The opening theme is bad. He should be more surprised to see a mermaid. They talk like they’ve known each other their whole lives. Starfish have host clubs? This episode couldn’t end fast enough. Dropping.

Shingeki no Kyojin – I’m not sure what kind of giants I was expecting, but it certainly wasn’t that thing peeking over the wall. I see nothing wrong with living in peace, instead of looking for trouble. Eren’s a scrawny little brat. I thought the first episode was pretty stupid. Eren is not a very likable lead. Maybe that’ll change, but I think he’ll only be more stupid and bratty from now on. Mikasa is better than he is. I’d like to know more about the titans, because right now it doesn’t make much sense.

While there isn’t much competition for the best anime of the season, there’s plenty for worst male lead. Out of all of them I hate Eren the worst. He’s still a weak, stupid, brat with an inflated sense of worth and strength. Mikasa is great, she shouldn’t waste her time on him.

Suisei no Gargantia – This episode got better after the space battle stopped. It held my attention after that, so I was watching it instead of writing on here.

Gargantia is pushing forward to be the second best of the season.

Mushibugyo – I feel like I’ve just watched the entire series in the OP. I didn’t realize this would involve actual bugs. So far this is as a shounen action is just “eh”. Nowhere near the greats.

Arata Kangatari – That one bad guy has magnificent hair. I don’t have any feelings on this either way.

Ketsuekigata-kun! – I’m watching this mainly for JunJun, but also because I think it’s interesting the Japanese have tied blood types to personality types, though it makes more sense than things like star signs. I don’t even know what my blood type is.

Aiura – It was fine. The black haired girl is cute.

Kakumeiki Valvrave – So I don’t like mecha. And as Gargantia taught me, I don’t like it any more in outer space than I do on land. Shouko should have been the lead and pilot. Haruto is so incredibly stupid. I’m not even sure he’s literate, since he didn’t understand you had to answer the question to start Valvrave. He just flails around, yelling and hitting things instead of just pressing yes. I hate mecha. Well, that was a “what the fuck” ending. Is that a slight glimmer or originality I see?

Hentai Ouji to Warawanai Neko. – Another title with a period in it. I hear the silver girl from Oreshura. Aw, she’s cute. She was cuter when she had emotions. I’m sorry, Gargantia, HenNeko just perved its way into second place.

Anime Winter End Review
Posted by Miya on April 3rd, 2013

And another season ends. The only ones I’m going to miss are Ixion Saga DT and Zetsuen no Tempest, which are both from the fall season. Nothing in the winter season was particularly memorable, except for maybe Chihayafuru 2, which is continuing through spring. Spring’s line up appears to have some interesting choices, and the return of one of the greatest (worst!!) anime bitches ever: Kirino. This will have spoilers for last seasons anime, of course.

This season’s theme: disappointing. The word is going to come up a lot here.

Mondaiji-tachi ga Isekai kara Kuru Sou Desu yo? – The first of the winters anime to end. My opinion of it hasn’t changed. I did develop a tick everytime they said the word “geass”, though. Problem Children is harmless and enjoyable, if you can accept it for what it is: a silly fantasy, action series. Its relatively likable main characters helped to add a slight amount of charm to it. At times it had me missing Bleach before spoiler –> its big bad turned into a butterfly.

Haganai NEXT – Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai NEXT was a horrible disappointment. The first season was shockingly funny. It managed to make a harem interesting for once. Haganai NEXT just relied on tired old fan service, instead of following the lead of the previous seasons dirty comedy. Here’s a hint Haganai staff: you can have real comedy and fan service at the same time! Another minus: Not enough Kobato. The best thing about it: NEXT was really harsh on Yozora. It was nice to see her get what she deserved.

Robotics;Notes – Robotics;Notes started out with so much potential and then just squandered it all. It had one of the most ridiculous endings ever. Mizuka’s death was done well, but it started getting silly after the Kimijima reveal, which wasn’t shocking at all. Kaito was a decent male lead, but I can’t stand Aki. I hate the kind of characters that are always energetic and yelling all the time. I had no fluffy feelings during the Kaito/Akiho confession. They don’t have any chemistry, and I’m not just saying that because I don’t like her. A+ voice acting on Frau’s part. I had no idea she was also Nunnally’s seiyuu.

Shinsekai Yori – This had the most original story of the season, and the most disappointing. Saki is a weak, worthless character. I never even slightly liked or sympathized with her. When my last favorite character died in the end any interest I had in the show died with him. Everyone should have died, they’re all so horrible. This and Little Busters are my most hated anime of the fall-winter season.

Little Busters! – I only made it to episode 19. I knew there was a very good chance I would hate it, because I hated Clannad and Kanon. I only gave it a try because of Angel Beats. I’m just surprised I made it as far in the series as I did.

Tamako Market – My favorite of the season. Cute, fluffy, sweet Tamako Market. The blonde girls moment of cattiness bothered me, because it was so out of place from the rest of the kindness of the anime. Tamako Market was my anime safe place, and that hurt it a bit, as did Choi’s meanness when she first showed up.

Kotoura-san – While it could often be melodramatic, Kotoura-san is the anime that was the most surprising in a good way. When it wasn’t being over the top emotionally, it sometimes had the same kind hilarious perversion the first Haganai did.

Zetsuen no Tempest – I got spoiled a couple times for this one, the first time by Google, so now even doing a search for anime isn’t safe because they might suggest a spoiler to you. The first half way okay, and it picked up during the second half. I’m glad Evangeline’s alien theory didn’t come to pass. Hakaze became a little more likable, as did Evangeline, who just seemed like she was there for fan service (she was, but her character got slightly more flavor). Samon and his beautiful red hair remained fabulous, as did arrow and hat guy. The ending sucked, which is a problem a lot of anime this season had. It was nice to get a proper ending for the characters, which most anime doesn’t have, but the defeat of the tree was so rushed, and yes, ridiculous. “I can’t do it the tree is too strong! But what – here’s a magical tree sword no one’s mentioned until now! I win! Yay!” At least no one died?

OreShura – I never got over my initial dislike of the orange girls hair. Her personality isn’t any better. Pink girl is my favorite, followed by the black haired one with the weird haircut in a distant second place. Then silver girl, and orange girl isn’t even on the list. No, I don’t know their names. Pink’s nickname is A-chan I think? Edit: I thought about it, and I realized I know them all: Chiwa, A-chan, Hime, and Masuzu? I just call them by their hair color.

Ixion Saga DT – Now here’s a dirty comedy! It did start to decline in quality during the second half, when they realized they actually had a plot they had to finish. But they still managed to resolve it better than Tempest did. Kon should have stayed, he was doing better there. What did he have at home except his DT? Mariandale, Erec, and Variation are my favorite character. Marian is the most badass transgender woman ever, and JunJun voices her. The last episode was good, and it even managed to be cute. I’m going to miss this and Tamako Market the most.

Maoyuu Maou Yuusha – Dropped at episode 4.

Vividred Operation – Dropped at episode 1.

Continuing Anime

Chihayafuru 2 – Chihayafuru’s second season finally picked up once it started focusing on its main characters again, and not that horrible girl who’s after Taichi. I haven’t liked Arata since the beginning of the first Chihayafuru, but now that he’s playing karuta he’s becoming interesting again. Even if he does have an annoying accent, and gets in Taichi’s way.

I can’t wait for the new season. I thought about starting some other series at the end of March (Fairy Tail, Wolf’s Rain, continue C and Gintama), but I’m just making layout after layout for my anime fanlistings. Watching old series has become more difficult since my best source for vids went under.

Winter Anime Season
Posted by Miya on January 20th, 2013

I’m still behind. I’m only just now starting this seasons anime. Except for when my headphones broke, and near the end, I was really good about keeping up with my anime last season. I’ll try to keep it up this season, but I’m still not feeling very good. This post will be updated as new episodes come out. These are just my random thoughts while watching the first few episodes of each series.

Chihayafuru 2 – Chihayafuru’s back! I forgot what a big head Kana has. This episode focused more on the shallow new skank instead of what’s really important, Chihaya. I hate it when new characters come in and mess up group dynamics.

Is the tramp the main character now? More attention is being paid to her than anyone else.

At least the attention was more evenly distributed between the members in episode 3.

Maoyuu Maou Yuusha – The Demon King really needs a good bra or corset.

Congrats. You’ve been upgraded from serfs to maids, a higher class of slaves.

And that’s it, dropped. I’m getting less tolerant of mediocre anime in my old age.

Mondaiji-tachi ga Isekai kara Kuru Sou Desu yo? – A mish mash of other anime. Boring, bland. At least there’s a cat, and the girls aren’t trying to claw each others eyes out. I heard people were looking forward to bunny girl fan service, but there’s more fan service in Maoyuu Maou Yuusha than this. It seems relatively harmless, but probably not worth the time.

I think Anne Hathaway said it best: blurgh.

I’ll continue with this anime unless it gets to the point I can’t bear to watch anymore.

Haganai NEXT – At least this doesn’t have Yozora writing about Sena being raped, unlike the OVA. But it does have a teenage girl being spanked by her father, which is disgusting even if it is Okiayu Ryotaro. Maybe if it was Inoue Norihiro I’d be okay with it. What I liked about the first season was the dirty humor was funny and surprising. I’m pretty much a prude, but I love dirty humor (like the 1st Haganai, Mistudomoe, Ixion Saga DT). I grew up watching Are You Being Served? Right now Haganai NEXT is just typical fan service, and doesn’t bring anything new or even humorous to the series.

Second episode wasn’t any better.

Despite the loli fan service, this episode was much better. I like how Kodaka doesn’t bat an eye at nekkid loli, instead of blushing and stuttering like a lot of other characters would.

Tamako Market – At least the characters are cute.

This is the best new anime so far.

I’m going to die of cuteness. Best anime this season.

Ore no Kanojo to Osananajimi ga Shuraba Sugiru – So this guy is the male Shizuku. I have an irrational hatred of the orange girls hair.

Kotoura-san – Not bad. I skipped about 5 minutes in the beginning though.

Hanazawa Kana! The little guy from Accel World has lost weight. So many slutty girl characters this season.

Vividred Operation – This might’ve been a decent anime if they made it more mature and cut out the lolis and fan service. I’m going to give it one more episode.

gdgd Fairies 2 – Animal abuse isn’t funny.

Yama no Susume – It’s ridiculous that Crunchyhell thinks it’s appropriate to put a waiting period on a 3 minute show.

Is Japan trying to get people interested in mountain climbing?

Anime End of Year Review
Posted by Miya on January 15th, 2013

Obviously I’m behind on this. I was waiting until I finished Kamisama Hajimemashita, and I’ve been procrastinating because I just don’t care that anime. I posted my initial thoughts on all the fall anime, so I thought I should include my thoughts on the end as well, to be fair to the shows. Note: I haven’t proofread this yet.

Kamisama Hajimemashita – As I said before I just don’t care about this anime. I don’t hate it, I don’t feel anything at all towards it. It started out funny, despite it’s reused character designs, then it turned to drama and cliches instead. It’s impossible to hate this because it’s just so bland. It should have stuck to comedy, where at least it was somewhat interesting.

K – K really surprised me. I was very wrong about it. It never took itself too seriously, it was the viewers who were taking it too seriously. A few episodes in I realized it was in on the joke. K is just meant to be enjoyed. It’s not really original. In fact the death at the end is taken directly from Code Geass, they just copied the situation with different characters. The quality dropped off a little for the last two episodes, but it’s still a very beautifully animated, very enjoyable anime with a lot of heart.

My Little Psycopath Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun – Another anime that surprised me. It wasn’t the seasons best (that one is coming up next), and I never really warmed up to Mizutani, but it was funny and didn’t get too melodramatic, unlike Kamisama. I did like Haru, though it was disturbing how many times he punched Mizutani. I can accept the first time was an accident, even though he didn’t seem to care despite claiming to love her, but he did it again at least two more times. Haru also looked like he could seriously kill that blond guy. Maybe Mizutani and Haru can get a padded room together. Natsume and Micchan are my favorite characters. Natsume has good taste in men.

Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai! – More crazy people in love, except this time they’re really cute and unlikely to physically and mentally abuse each other. This is my favorite anime of the fall season. It’s so sweet, funny, and makes me feel all the feels. I grew to like Rikka, and was rooting for her near the end when Yuuta and her family took away her identity and turned her into a doormat. At first she reminded me of Chitanda from Hyouka, and I couldn’t stand that girl, but Rikka is way cuter and not as manipulative, lazy, and troublesome (year I hate Chitanda). I liked Yuuta through most of the anime. Finally a male lead that isn’t blank and bland. He did piss me off in two episodes at the end when he proceeded to ruin all the girls in the show. But he made up for it in the end. Even bitchy Nibutani got slightly better at the end. Chuunibyou was such a wonderful anime, too bad there’s no chances for anymore.

BTOOOM! – I’m not sure which came first, Mirai Nikki or BTOOOM!, but the Mirai Nikki anime came first, so it’s more well known. Comparisons are inevitable. And BTOOOM! is nowhere near as good in my opinion. BTOOOM! tries too hard to be shocking and edgy. The characters are all weak and pathetic. Ryouta and Himiko briefly showed some promise, but Ryouta is a coward, and Himiko just mainly cries, trembles, and says she’d rather die than loose her purity. Okay, die bitch. In fact, all of you die. You deserve to be on that island. I thought at least Shiki was tough, but then she had to go save the guy who blew off her arm. Pathetic all of them. Also, Himiko has a face like a basketball. It is so round? Just something I thought through the entire anime.

Sword Art Online – SAO wasn’t from the fall season, but that’s when it ended, which is why it’s included here. SAO started out innocently enough. Another bland anime that I felt nothing in particular towards. I thought the “romance” between Kirito and Asuna was pretty ridiculous. I get years passed during the show, but we didn’t see that. We didn’t see much interaction between them at all and suddenly they’re all love~ <3 <3 <3 That's pretty standard anime romance, which is one reason I hate drama/romance anime as opposed to comedy/romance. Then the first half ended (pretty quickly and stupidly) and ALfheim Online. From the first half to the end I was disgusted. ALfheim Online is basically just Asuna and imouto fan service. It was a light harem to begin with, but it wasn't pervy, and if there was any fan service at all in the beginning I don't remember it. ALfheim Online is mostly just Suguha being in love with her cousin/brother and Asuna being groped. And there is a lot of Asuna groping. Asuna went from being a strong, capable knight to being molested, almost tentacle raped, and being trapped in a cage waiting for wonderful Kirito to rescue her. It doesn't add anything to the story, it's just purely gratuitous fan service. Asuna is the most popular character and all the guys consider her their waifu, and you have to keep the pervy fanboys happy. I've seen a lot of fan service and the only other time I've ever been disgusted by it was during Freezing and the Haganai OVA. The best thing I can say about SAO is that it was at least able to make me feel something towards it in the end. I hate it.

Continuing Anime

Zetsuen no Tempest – Still has a lot of unused potential. I can tell it’s really trying to go somewhere, it just doesn’t seem to know where that is. Maybe it’s using Apple Maps. I started to prefer Samon when they showed Hakaze’s response to him and the others when they were trying to talk about their concerns. Because that wasn’t destructive at all, little tree princess. I’m on Samon’s side. I don’t like Hakaze at all. She’s arrogant and self righteous. Maybe if she’d been a better and more mature leader to them they could have settled this amicably, but she won’t listen to anyone but her own wonderful self.

Shinsekai yori – Another anime that isn’t living up to it’s potential. Occasionally we make some progress, but mostly it just feels like we’re going around in circles. It has plenty of episodes left, so maybe it’ll get going and be able to coherently explain everything at the end. Maybe. I did have a pretty awesome Shinsekai yori dream though.

Ixion Saga DT – I love Ixion Saga DT! So glad it’s a full series. Ixion Saga does not get enough love. It is an amazing comedy. A perfect comedy, if you like or don’t mind dirty humor. Just like K, people take this anime too seriously. It is a comedy, and only a comedy. It is not an action or adventure with comedy thrown in. It is just a comedy. If you expect something serious, and deep, and epic, this is not it, and it’s not the fault of the anime if you can’t understand that. Fucking Btooom! has a higher rating on MAL than Ixion Saga DT just because Ixion Saga wasn’t what they expected.

Little Busters – I don’t like it, I don’t hate it. Still like the cat girl.

Robotics;Notes – Robotics;Notes is better when it focuses on conspiracy and not hobby robot building. Like the beginning one episode was devoted entirely to robot building. I was bored out of my mind. Maybe if you like mecha you’d like that? But I don’t, I’m far more interested in mystery. Maybe they don’t have enough mystery to fill the entire series and needed filler. Or maybe they’re just going to piss around then rush to get everything explained near the end. I can’t stand Akiho. I hate loud, energetic characters that are always shouting. So Robotics;Notes is better when it focuses on conspiracy, AND when Akiho isn’t around. I meant to watch ChäoS;HEAd and Steins;Gate since while I was waiting for new anime, since they’re all crazy cousins, but the holidays are a bad time for me. So I just messed around on Sims Social and watched Skins and Doctor Who instead.

Fall Anime Season
Posted by Miya on October 15th, 2012

It’s that time of year again! A change in season means a change in anime. Here is a list of what I’m currently watching, and my thoughts on them so far.

Shinsekai yori – This is one of the anime I have the most hopes for, so it will probably let me down. There isn’t enough horror anime, and while this one isn’t listed as horror, it does have a lot of creepy undertones, so fingers crossed that this will be scary and disturbing. Hanazawa Kana is in it, and the second episode had Tobita Nobuo in it. I think. He isn’t credited on MAL, but he has a very distinctive voice.

Okay. The 4th ep looks more interesting.

Kamisama Hajimemashita – My favorite so far, though that’s only based on the first episode. It’s generic shoujo (romantic?) comedy, but it was enjoyable.

OMG ostrich.

K – Oh, that was cracktacular. The ANN reviewers weren’t kidding when they said K was a gorgeous anime that was trying too hard. K has some of the best visuals I’ve ever seen in an anime. Unfortunately it’s like they spent all their budget on the animation and there wasn’t any left over for a decent story or script. It’s trying so hard to be one of the popular kids and failing miserably at it. I think that’s why the punks are trying to kill the main character, because he’s so effortlessly cool and they’re lame and they want to eliminate all the cool people in the world so they’ll be the only ones left and then they’ll be cool. That’s the story I was making up in my head and it was a lot better than whatever was going on in the anime. The best part of the episode was when the guy with the naked cat lady was at school. It was just being what it was, and it was working. Then the dorks came back. And the Engrish. I couldn’t decide whether I wanted them to stop because it was embarrassing, or keep going because it was so lolworthy. K also gets points for being a seiyuupalooza! It has FukuJun, OnoD (all it needs is HiroC), Nakamura Yuuichi, Miyano Mamoru, Sugita Tomokazu, Sawashiro Miyuki, Sakurai Takahiro, and Horie Yui, though I don’t like those last two. K is stupid as hell, but it’s worth it for the snark. I just have to remember to watch it when I’m sleep deprived (well, more sleep deprived than I usually am) and more easily amused.

This show is so bad it’s good. It did try hard in the first episode, but it also doesn’t take itself seriously.

Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun – I really didn’t like the first episode. It’s supposed to be a comedy/romance and they forgot the comedy. Whether I like shoujo depends on what kind it is. If it’s comedy, or comedy + romance, it has a good chance. If it’s drama or drama + romance I’ll probably hate it. I don’t like drama/romance anime and manga in general. The first thing I think of when I hear that is either Nana (sorry Amber, that one Nana is a slut and I can’t stand her) or Clannad, melodramatic soap operas that just leave me rolling my eyes.

The main character is still a bitch, but the second episode was surprisingly enjoyable. I really like the new girl, she better be in the series more because she adds a lot to it.

Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai! – Fukuyama Jun! Eye patch girl is crazy, she’s way too old to be acting that way. All I kept thinking was “Smack her JunJun!” And he did, but obviously not hard enough because she kept talking. IDK, I guess she’s supposed to be cute, but she’s just meddlesome and annoying to me.

The second episode was better. Eye patch girl wasn’t as annoying. No wonder she’s crazy, her sister beats her with a ladle. She probably has brain damage.

Zetsuen no Tempest – This anime has potential. Will it do anything with that potential? Experience tells me no. I just hope it doesn’t turn out as bad as Romeo x Juliet, because I don’t think I can survive that again.

The second episode wasn’t any better or worse. The music is wonderful.

BTOOOM! – Watching this because Dao said if you liked Mirai Nikki you would probably like this. It wasn’t as bad as ANN said. Not surprising, I rarely ever agree with them.

Second ep was difficult to watch. I like Himiko so far.

Ixion Saga DT – Eh. I watched it because ANN said it was funny, but since I already knew what was going to happen so it wasn’t as good as it could have been.

The ED guy looks good with his hair down, but he really will have ED at this rate. Imagine the shit of those carrier pigeons. Where’s the shocked face smiley? :blank: That’s as close as I can get.

Little Busters! – I’ll probably regret this.

It wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. I like it when the first girl in the group beats up the big black haired one, and I like cats. That’s the best I have to say about it. At least it doesn’t make me want to gouge my eyes out like Clannad does.

I don’t hate it yet.

Robotics;Notes – I didn’t like or dislike it.

Haven’t decided on Code:Breaker, Girls und Panzer, Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo, or Magi yet. I heard there’s animal abuse in Code:Breaker, something I have no tolerance for. Unless the next episode gets stellar reviews (if ANN does the 2nd ep) I won’t be watching. Hidamari Sketch x Honeycomb – I haven’t finished the Hidamari Sketch I’m watching now. JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: The Animation – more animal abuse. Hayate no Gotoku! Can’t Take My Eyes Off You – no Wakamoto Norio no watching. Psycho-Pass – I was looking forward to this but sexism oozes from every review and interview about it.

I’m more interested in the winter anime season. New Chihayafuru and Haganai!

Nunnally in Wonderland
Posted by Miya on July 27th, 2012

Here’s a clip of Schneizel el Britannia as the Red King in the Code Geass: Nunnally in Wonderland OVA. I am positively giddy. This morning I kept thinking “It’s Friday! Friday! Nunnally in Wonderland on Friday!” So happy for this. There needs to be more Code Geass (with Schneizel in it), I don’t care if it’s crack. Anyway, here are some Nunnally in Wonderland Schneizel and Kanon screencaps. You can find the rest at the Schneizel el Britannia fanlisting.

No handsome, irresistible, sexy jerk this time though. :( Sunrise should just make that into an anime. I’d watch it.

The Day the Fandom Exploded
Posted by Miya on December 5th, 2009

Edit Dec 7: lol, Crack Geass: Timeskipping with Goro Taniguchi (I thought there might be another manga after the last ones did badly) and update 4, that’s our Sunrise. There’s been rumors for a while now, in January Sunrise said they had some important news to give out, and someone on LJ said it was a rumor online from a source that is usually right. I thought if anything was going to happen today would be the day, so I was hoping for it and I was right. The first thing I saw when I went to ANN was New Code Geass Project’s Launch Revealed (Updated) Bandai’s mobile phone website promises more details in 2010. And on LiveJournal [News] New Code Geass Project!!! (plus this birthday event). So the CG fandom has exploded, as to be expected. Apparently it’s a very popular topic for bloggers in Japan. I’m in the camp that if I can, I will watch whatever it is they throw at me because it’s Code freaking Geass. Some think it’ll be a movie/ova because one of the seiyuu at the birthday event seemed to keep emphasizing that although the TV anime was over… In any case I’m so happy! We’ve been waiting for this (except those of us who weren’t) for so long! Squeeee! And happy birthday Lelouch!
